Sekolah Dyatmika is a bilingual, independent National Plus school offering international standard education in English and Bahasa Indonesia. The school is located on a beautiful campus overlooking the beach just north of Sanur, Bali. We employ both internationally-qualified and experienced English speaking teachers, mostly from Australia and Great Britain, and fully qualified national teachers. They teach the Indonesian and University of Cambridge International Examinations curricula utilising international teaching methodologies with the focus on integrated and enquiry based learning experiences. All our teachers are required to be innovative and co-operative in order to not only provide education of an international standard but also offer teacher training to national teachers and national teacher trainees from Bali and sometimes other Indonesian islands.
2009/10 is Dyatmika's 14th year of full time operation and we welcomed our highest total enrollment so far of around 346 students. Dyatmika is a strong and vibrant community. The turn over of families is low as most are committed to building their livelihoods here in Bali.
In the 2009/10 academic year, our school has enrolled:
- 26 three year-old students in our playgroup programme
- 34 four and five year-old students in our kindergarten programme (TK A & TK B)
- 141 students in the six years of our primary school programme (SD)
- 82 students in the three years of our junior high school programme, classes 7, 8 and 9 (SMP)
- 63 students in the three years of our senior high school programme, classes 10, 11 and 12 (SMA)
Sekolah Dyatmika has smaller class sizes ranging from 20 to 26 per class and teacher student rations of 1:5 to 1:15. Teachers teach in teams and there are often 2 or 3 teachers teaching in differentiated classrooms. These numbers help to maximise each student's learning opportunity and also they ensure a strong and supportive social environment for the children to learn and grow in.
Some of our classes are full, however there are still a few vacancies for this 2009/2010 school year. We are now accepting applications for the next school year 2010/2011. Please ask at our information email address, info@dyatmika.org if you would like more details.
